Our hotel in Rome has been a pretty good deal for us. Hotels.com has done good by us, so far. Every morning we get free breakfast, including home made coffee. The breakfast lady that serves us is really very nice. We make sure to leave some change for her every morning and she makes sure to greet me every morning with a "Good Morning Madame." Plus she always has fresh homemade coffee with fresh foam ready for me when we come into the dining room. Just goes to show what happens when we treat people with courtesy and respect ;)
Day 5: Terme Diocleziano & Ostia Antica
So on this day we did some of things near our hotel that we had been putting off. For instance, we finished our Angels & Demons Tour by seeing Chiesa Santa Maria de Vittorio. This chapel was completely designed by Bernini and is by far the prettiest chapel we have seen in Rome. Just beautiful.
Next we saw Terme Diocleziano, which is another big bath complex of ancient Rome. It was pretty cool and had a neat museum inside with all sorts of Roman Art.
After seeing those sites, we traveled outside of Rome to the ancient Roman port of Ostia Antica. This was really fun because we got to wander around aimlessly through a maze of ruins. The mosaics and frescoes were complete and were from the 1st Century AD!
On our way back to Rome, we decided to make the trek to see a Roman Aqueduct. There are many in Rome but you really don't know what you are looking at when you see them and we wanted to see some of the big ones that are so famous in history books. Parque Aquedocti was a great place for a nice walk with a cool view.
